Perth FADs to stay in all year round

There has been some good news just come out regarding the FADs behind Rottnest Island in Western Australia. Thanks to Recfish, the FADs will be a year round fishing spot. In the past they used to be deployed only for a few months every summer, putting pressure on finding a calm enough day to get out there.

Recfish WA is planning on deploying 8 new FADs that will stay in year round. This means we can chase Mahi Mahi on those calm days of spring/autumn. Apparently they are a new improved design which is meant to be safer for other marine animals and be more effective in attracting pelagics.
